Being an NGO at the UN

The main task of the NGOs at the UN is that of advocacy, keeping justice issues before the eyes of Member States as well as UN bodies, commissions and committees. But beyond the role of advocacy, the simple presence of religious NGOs at the UN has an impact, for they are witnesses to ethical behavior, focusing on the common good and grounded in grass roots realities. All this informs their input in written statements and oral interventions.
