International Mother Earth Day
On April 22, 2020 the US celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day. It was the idea of Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson to focus on environmental conservation after an oil spill in Santa Barbara, California in 1969. In 2009, Bolivia initiated negotiations on recognizing interdependence among human beings and living species. To foster Harmony with Nature the United Nations General Assembly declared April 22, International Mother Earth Day. (more…)
