The Congregations of St. Joseph NGO Launches #SistersForSocialFloors

Every year the Commission on Social Development (CSocD) meets at the United Nations in New York and acts as the “advisory body responsible for the social development pillar of global development,” according to their website. The 2019 meeting — which will take place from February 11-21 — has as priority theme to “address inequalities and challenges to social inclusion through fiscal, wage, and social protection policies.” (more…)

Conference Focuses on Migrant Workers in Asia

Participants gathered from September 9-11, 2018 at the Don Bosco Provincial House in New Delhi, India to discuss the joys, hopes, and aspirations, along with the sorrow and anguish, of the world’s 250 million migrants — 19 million of whom are internally displaced (IDP) in Asia alone. (more…)

2018 High-Level Political Forum

Last month members of the Congregations of St. Joseph NGO (CSJ UN NGO) joined 2,200 participants at the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) at the United Nations in New York. The HLPF meets annually and is the UN’s platform to review progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda. (more…)
